IDP vendor ExB appoints new CEO for its next phase of growth

ExB’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Ramin Assadollahi, is stepping down as CEO. Tobias Brix, a specialist in scaling SaaS companies, takes over as CEO to lead the IDP provider into the next phase of growth. Dr. Ramin Assadollahi will, however, remain with the company as Chairman of the Executive Board and continue to support it with his strategic expertise.

ExB, an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) provider, announced on October 1, 2024, that it has appointed Tobias Brix as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Brix takes over the position from Dr. Ramin Assadollahi, ExB’s Founder and long-time CEO, who will stay with the company as Chairman of the Board.

Dr. Ramin Assadollahi explained: “The decision to step down as CEO is a natural progression for me and the company. I remain a founder and inventor at heart, and now that I see that our IDP solution is very successfully solving real customer problems, it’s time to hand over the reins to someone who knows how to scale successfully. I am proud that we have been able to bring excellent employees as well as team leads on board across all departments. As Chairman of the Board, I look forward to continuing to support the strategic direction and promote ExB’s innovative strength.” He added: “With our skilled team and Tobias in charge, I am confident that ExB will continue to grow and establish itself as the first choice for companies in a wide range of industries.”

Tobias Brix, newly appointed CEO of ExB, commented: “Especially since working for IBM and Watson, I am passionate about transforming unstructured data (natural language) with the help of machine learning and AI. I see enormous potential in the intelligent automation of document processes and I am convinced that we will be successful in various markets with our flexible AI solutions. ExB’s strength lies in the flexibility and adaptability of the platform. We will leverage these strengths to serve the needs of a growing, globalized economy while opening up new markets.”

In May, the analyst firm Infosource ranked ExB as an “Explorer” in its 2024 Global Capture & IDP (Intelligent Document Processing) Software Vendor Matrix.

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, ExB is an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) platform that transforms unstructured data from any type of document into structured results. This allows companies to automate their processes and save both time and money, while improving customer experience and employee satisfaction.
