The ETH Zurich and HSG St. Gallen spin-off plans to use the new funding to further expand its IT and business team in order to serve the market even more efficiently. The main goal, according to BLP Digital, remains to strengthen the innovative power of the Swiss economy and to counteract the growing shortage of skilled workers through technology.
BLP Digital, a provider of an AI-based ERP process automation solution, announced May 2 that it has received CHF 2.5 million in funding from Swiss innovation agency Innosuisse as part of its Swiss Accelerator program. The funding will allow BLP Digital to accelerate development and generalize its AI to the point where a wide range of processes can be fully automated.
Sabrina Schenardi, co-founder of BLP Digital, explained: “Particularly for SMEs, the automation of internal processes in document processing is central in order to remain internationally competitive on one hand and to offer attractive jobs on the other. Skilled workers should spend their time doing what they are interested in and trained for: Solving problems in teams, transferring know-how and creating added value instead of searching for differences on delivery bills or invoices and transferring them to the ERP.”
Tim Beck, co-founder and CEO of BLP Digital, commented: “We are pleased to be supported by the Innosuisse jury with funding out of more than 750 submitted applications. The strong demand in the market for AI-based ERP automation solutions proves that this topic is of central importance for the Swiss economy. It makes us proud that the federal government recognizes this, acts with foresight and provides targeted support.”
Two months ago, BLP Digital was able to win Canon (Schweiz) AG as a distribution partner for its SaaS solution.
Zurich-based BLP-Digital, a spin-off of ETH Zurich and HSG St. Gallen, has developed a generic AI that fully automates document-based ERP processes in the cloud, such as supplier invoices, order confirmations and delivery bills from day one, without ever having seen the documents beforehand.
