Dr. Rainer Kegel has taken over the position of CEO at Cortical.io. He joins from Wiener Stadtwerke, where he served as CIO for several years and initiated the IoT and Data Science programs. At Cortical.io, Dr. Rainer Kegel will be responsible for the strategic development of the company.
Cortical.io, a provider of AI-based solutions, including SemanticPro, its Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution, announced February 15 that Dr. Rainer Kegel has joined the company as its new CEO, starting January 2, 2023. In the coming months, Cortical.io plans to launch new sales initiatives in Europe and particularly in the DACH region.
Dr. Rainer Kegel explained his motives for joining Cortical.io as new CEO: “Data science is an absolute future topic. It is still barely integrated into corporate processes, so I see enormous growth potential. Cortical.io has developed an AI system that helps companies make labor-intensive, document-centric processes more efficient. In many organizations, documents are still reviewed and processed manually because no software is able to handle the intricacies of human language. When thousands of documents are involved, this tedious, error-prone work ties up too many human resources. Cortical.io solutions understand the meaning of text, a capability that enables the automation of new enterprise workflows.”
