Hyland expands its Content Innovation Cloud with AI upgrades

The new AI enhancements to the Content Innovation Cloud support Hyland’s strategy to leverage AI in content services to give organizations better access to insights from their enterprise content and automate key processes.

Hyland, a provider of intelligent content solutions including Hyland IDP, its Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) software, announced on April 1, 2025, that it has expanded its Content Innovation Cloud with new AI enhancements. With these updates, Hyland aims to improve content management, process automation and application intelligence.

New key enhancements involve the products Hyland Automate, Hyland Knowledge Discovery, OnBase and Alfresco: Hyland Knowledge Discovery leverages natural language queries, AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to streamline complex searches. Users can also refine search results using metadata fields and dynamic filters. Hyland Automate introduces an AI-powered chat interface that converts natural language prompts into automation workflows. There is also a new connector for OpenAI and integration with Microsoft email to simplify email-based task automation. OnBase and Alfresco updates: OnBase Foundation 25.1 offers AI-driven insights, scalable app-building features and enhanced workflows. Alfresco 25.1 improves content management from legal holds.

Leonard Kim, Chief Product Officer of Hyland, commented: “We continue to deliver on the unified Content Innovation Cloud roadmap and meet evolving customer needs by extending the value of their Hyland solutions. Our latest product enhancements also support the importance of content intelligence and AI agents in content services – equipping organizations to better access and act on the insights hidden in their enterprise content, enhance data extraction and intelligently automate critical business processes.”

Just two weeks ago, Hyland announced an evolution in its brand strategy (including a new visual identity) that aims to align with market needs by emphasizing AI-driven automation, cloud-native enterprise content intelligence and enhanced user experiences.

Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, Hyland empowers organizations with unified content, process and application intelligence solutions, unlocking profound insights that fuel innovations.
