Rossum launches specialist AI agents to automate paperwork

With the launch of specialist AI agents for transactional documents such as invoices and purchase orders, the Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor enables organizations to configure and deploy AI agents to automate paperwork and accelerate process automation while ensuring compliance.

Rossum, an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor, announced on February 18, 2025, that it has launched specialist AI agents. This adds a set of capabilities to the Rossum platform that enables business users to configure and deploy AI agents for paperwork.

A set of four new capabilities enables business users to easily configure and deploy AI agents for paperwork. These four capabilities are: procedures and actions (the ability to perform actions consistently and in accordance with existing SOPs), reasoning (allowing AI agents to infer new data not explicitly mentioned in documents), datasets (improved integration with enterprise master data to understand the full context of the business transaction), and business & operational insights (enhancing its existing ‘Reporting & Insights’ capabilities to provide business users with better insight into AI agent performance and actionable business intelligence).

Petr Baudiš, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Rossum, explained: “Enterprise paperwork processes are inherently complex because they’re designed to keep businesses safe. While generalist AI agents may seem like an appealing shortcut, they lack the specific skills, domain expertise, and guardrails needed to handle these workflows reliably. Specialist AI agents in Rossum are purpose-built for handling transactional paperwork like invoices and purchase orders, ensuring they process these documents with the speed and precision that our customers expect.”

A year ago, Rossum unveiled Aurora, its AI engine specifically trained on transactional business documents to eliminate hallucinations commonly experienced with third-party LLMs. In October, Rossum launched Aurora 1.5, which provided instant learning for 276 languages, handwriting support and four times faster processing time for documents of more than 100 pages.

Based in London and Prague, Rossum is an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor offering Rossum Aurora, a transactional document automation platform based on its proprietary Transactional Large Language Model (T-LLM), which enables high accuracy and efficiency in document processing.
